We Are Parable: 30 Year Celebration of "Do The Right Thing"August 2019.
The good people of "We Are Parable" invited Leo down to their 30th Anniversary, celebration screening of "Do The Right Thing". Leo was asked to produce a piece of art to mark the occasion. The artwork is made up of two components, the first being the centre of the piece which is a visual interpretation of Do The Right Thing, with the themes of Love, Hate & static running throughout. The second component of the piece, is the audience's feedback. The question on the night was asked to them:- "Why is Do The Right Thing is special to you?" As the film played & throughout the evening the audiences views were added to the artwork in the form of Leo's signature bubble calligraphy. Before the screening, there was an introduction from the "We Are Parable" team, a performance from Poet Anita Barton-Williams, a brief talk from Leo about the artwork & a short experimental film - "The Brig" by Jonas Mekas (1964). Shouts out Larry, Hector, Amina, Monty, Banni, Julien, Jae, & to everyone that passed through. Be sure to sign up to future "We Are Parable" events here. |
